Gym Etiquette
Know how to not piss off your fellow gym users by following these guidelines.
All students and attendees of Brothers MMA are expected to follow these codes of conduct.
We're excited to see you in the gym! If it's your first time or you are a veteran it's great to get some insight on how our school works. Here's a quick checklist:
• Come 10-15 min early so we can get you geared up and ready
• Bring a water bottle if desired, otherwise we have water fountains
• If you have wraps and gloves, bring em! if not, not a problem... we have gear for you
• Wear athletic clothes that you can easily move around in
Below are some items you should be aware of before you show up so you are set up for success!
Rule #1
Prepare to be a student.
We embrace questions but leave the cynicism at home. Learning our techniques takes time as its a new art to self defense. Don't expect to learn everything on day 1.
Rule #2
Respect our culture.
Be observant of our culture and embrace it. You'll grow the fastest if you make an effort to join in on the flow of the gym - especially a gym that is welcoming and ready to pull you towards success.
Rule #3
We train barefoot.
Expect to take off your shoes before you step on our mats. Protective wear is optional - however, we have dozens of different gear you can use. observe what the other students are doing and as for guidance when needed. everyone had a day 1 at some point.
Rule #4
Be comfortable with your clothes.
Walk in with athletic wear. We typically suggest shorts and a t -shirt.
Rule #5
Have fun with it.
Muay Thai and MMA are beautiful forms of art and we are all about having fun training. Our school is built upon friendship and discipline.
